Abstract

Fordyce granules are commonly found, and their quality is generally regarded as an average variation of the mucosa of the mouth. Fordyce granules are benign ectopic sebaceous glands that are recognized by numerous yellow granules that primarily appear in the lower lip. It is primarily seen in adult males. They have passages that open immediately onto the surface of the skin, despite the fact that these glands are there from the moment you are born. Until pubescence, they are not apparent, as soon as they form as a result of steroid hormones produced by the gonadal and adrenal glands. Adults make up approximately 70% to 80% of the population. Fordyce spots are mostly diagnosed through clinical examination, with only a few cases that require a skin biopsy. According to histological examination, a matured sebum gland situated underneath the mucous membrane emerges directly to the surface & lacks a hair follicle. Other differential diagnoses include syringas, granulomatous contagiosum, fungus nitidus, closed comedones, epidermal myxomas, & calcinosis cutis. They aren't associated with any disease or condition, and they aren't communicable, yet they are a regular occurrence in the body. They can be treated through CO2 laser, Picrolimus, 5-aminolaevulinic acid, micropuncture therapy, isotretinoin, and topical creams. Fordyce Spots develop due to hyperlipidemia, oily sebaceous glands, and hormonal changes. This is not a common problem but it is severe, which shows lesions on the skin surface with pain and uneasiness on the affected surface area of the body.
