Abstract

Introduction

In the area of modern medicine and biotechnology drug and gene delivery optimize the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics for the safety and effective transport of therapeutic agents to the targeted area in the body.

Biodegradable and biocompatible carriers have been explored as biomaterials for nearly two decades in gene delivery and tissue engineering1. This biomaterial has been actively researched as a prospective carrier for delivering therapeutic medicines and genes due to their physiochemical properties, decreased toxicity, and immunogenicity. These materials might be natural/biological or synthetic in origin, and their unique features provide several benefits, a wide range of pharmaceutical approaches for building micro-and nano-vehicles of medicinal medicines and genes2.
